Club News | May ‘26
Greetings to all our members! Welcome to the May round-up club newsletter. Firstly we would like to thank all those who made it to the recent AGM last week and to all members who have voted for the new membership fee proposal. This will come into effect on 1st September 2026.
Our monthly quiz was another success and team ‘Golden Girls’ were the proud winners this month! Well done!
Shout out for volunteers: We are always on the hunt for volunteers to help with various things around the club as the committee cannot cover everything the club needs all the time. If any members can help with anything such as bar cover, helping with events, or anything else you think would be of benefit, please drop us an email at admin@lbsc.org.uk – Volunteers will be invited to join the LBSC volunteers whatsapp group.
Thank you so much for those that have already volunteered to help us. This has been and will be a huge success and we are very appreciative of your time.
The committee has identified the following improvements we would like to make to the club building. Donations of time and money are welcome to complete these improvements quickly. Quotes are being sought and we will update with costs when we have them.
Upgrade Lighting Technology - The club would like to purchase the hardware and software to allow eBooking control of court lights so they will be turned on and off automatically when courts are booked.
Upgrade to Swipe Cards for Entry - Complimenting the lighting technology upgrade the swipe card upgrade allows the club to measure what facilities are being used.
Bar Interior Upgrade - Improving the look, feel and flow of the bar and seating areas with new carpet and furniture.
Lobby upgrade - Replace carpet in the lobby and stairs.
Add barrier nets to TT playing area.
Decoration - Paint the lobby and bar areas.
Add a mirror at the entrance to the carpark to allow drivers to see the driveway from the carpark and vice versa.

Total number of approximate volunteer hours spent in running the club this month: 190 hours
Steve Bridgeman has been progressing the funding bid, which now involves both Littlehampton Town Council and Arun District Council, to cover a mural we hope to have painted on the outside wall of the Club. We hope to coincide this with an Open Day in July (subject to everything coming together quite quickly!) involving a number of local youth organisations. If anyone has access to free scaffolding, let Steve know.
