Club News | June ‘26

Greetings to all members from the club committee! I hope you are all surviving in this hot weather. This is the club round-up for June.

Our monthly quiz was another success and Stan’s Clan were the proud winners this month! Well done! At our recent shuffleboard evening, the team ‘The Three Musketeers’ won the event and are the youngest winners so far - well done!

We would like to draw members attention to the membership account area on their eBooking accounts. If you access the ‘main site’ either via your mobile or laptop/desktops and navigate to the account section and scroll to the bottom of the page you will be able to update and check your emergency contact information. Please ensure this is filled in and up-to-date. If you are having trouble accessing this area in eBooking, you can always email admin@lbsc.org.uk and we can ensure this information is updated for you.

We would also like to remind all members and their guests that non-marking court shoes need to be worn on our courts. We have found black marks on court 1 recently which needs to be cleaned.

Shout out for volunteers: We are always on the hunt for volunteers to help with various things around the club as the committee cannot cover everything the club needs all the time. If any members can help with anything such as bar cover, helping with events, or anything else you think would be of benefit, please drop us an email at admin@lbsc.org.uk

Total number of approximate volunteer hours spent in running the club this month: 190 hours

Steve Bridgeman, Club Secretary, has continued to work on the planned mural for the outside wall of the Club and is pleased to announce that the second stage of Grant Aid funding from Littlehampton Town Council has been successfully passed. We have been awarded £830, which will be in our bank account shortly. We have also received verbal confirmation from Arun District Council that they would like to top this amount up to the £2000 required to do the mural on part of the wall. We are hoping that this funding may run to a much higher amount to allow the whole wall to be covered. We have been invited to submit this request and are just awaiting the detailed quotation.

Sam has also met up with Ben, who will be organising the mural, to discuss what sort of visual ideas he may have had, and presented the logo in its various forms and some other rough visuals to him, which sparked some good discussions about the overall theme and how it should tie into the logo itself.

Sam has also continued to make little tweaks to the website in order for it to read better and present information more easily. This work is continuous, and is completed subject to availability around his job.
